Summaries of Local Monitoring Results

As of November 2006, there are nearly 500 sites registered in the WAV database, with about 130 sites actively monitored each year. This has grown from fall 1996 when just 4 sites were monitored as part the program's pilot phase and from April 2003 when 150 sites were registered in the database. Since the program began, volunteers have monitored more than 3800 days, up from 1500 days in April 2003. All of this information (and more) is accessible on the online database for WAV monitoring.

To help summarize findings of monitors, a series of brochures were developed in 2002 and 2003 about sites in southern Wisconsin. During winter 2006-7 six data summaries are being developed to discuss findings by generalized regions in the state. The 2002-3 brochures and the 2006-7 data summaries are available in pdf* format using the links below. More data summaries will follow in the coming months.
