Albany Youth Futures is an organization built upon the idea that youth and adults, working together, can make a difference. The group held a contest to design a sign to post along the Sugar River that would promote protection and stewardship of the river.  On April 22, Albany Youth Futures invited all of the participants, their families, and the community to attend the dedication of the new sign by the boat launch behind S & B Tubing on the Sugar River in Albany, WI. Winners were Mitchell Kauk, Connor Drake, Logan Briggs. Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful continues to sponsor a series of clean ups in the Milwaukee area.

2006
There were 5 registered river clean ups, with hundreds of bags of garbage collected by 127 volunteers. Also, St. Catherine's School cleaned up St. Mary's Beach in Racine as part of with Wisconsin Beach Sweep.

2005
There were 8 registered river clean ups covering over 23 miles by 450 volunteers.

2004
We know people were out there cleaning up rivers, we just aren’t sure how many or where.

2003
There were 10 registered river clean ups, with over 230 reported garbage bags and several canoes full of trash collected by 2215 volunteers
