Water Action Volunteers
River Clean Ups

Since 1997, over 11000 volunteers have cleaned up garbage along more than 500 miles of Wisconsin streams and rivers. They have collected more than 3000 bags and 130,000 pounds of trash during river clean ups. These efforts are truly making a difference!

There is always the option to schedule your local clean up in conjunction with the National Rivers Clean Up Week, but clean ups can usually be conducted during all but the coldest months of the year. WAV provides a printable information packet about planning and carrying out your own clean-up project and free garbage bags (on a first-come first serve basis) to those groups that register their clean ups with us

We'd like to hear about your cleanup project!

Fill out this online form or download this printable report form and send it to us at:
Water Action Volunteers, 445 Henry Mall, Rm 202, Madison WI 53706-1289

Alternatively, e-mail the information requested on the reporting form to Kris Stepenuck at: kris.stepenuck@ces.uwex.edu

Feel free to include digital pictures of your clean up - we will be posting results on this web site in coming months!
