List Server

Joining Wisconsin's volunteer stream monitoring list server

An e-mail list server has been set up to help facilitate networking between volunteer stream monitoring programs in Wisconsin. If you are a volunteer stream monitor, a local monitoring coordinator (including teachers) or interested in what sorts of things are on-going in Wisconsin that related to volunteer stream monitoring, then this list is for you!

Announcements about upcoming stream monitoring events will be posted on the list, as well as questions about how local programs operate, analyze data, celebrate, etc.

If you aren't familiar with list servers, what they do is allow a group of people to have discussions via email without having to address email to each person on the email list. Instead, everyone who is interested in the topic of the list server can be added to the list, and will automatically receive emails posted to the list by other list users. If you reply to an email message that is posted to the list, your reply will go only to the original sender of the message.

You can subscribe to or unsubscribe from a list server at any time, so if you think you might be interested in joining, and later find this is not the list for you, it's simple to remove your self from the list.

To subscribe to the list:

Go to: and follow directions to automatically subscribe you to the list.

To unsubscribe from the list:

You will be sent monthly reminders of how to post messages to the list, the email address you are registered as a member of the list with, and how to unsubscribe from the list. However, you can also unsubscribe by following directions at the following webpage:

To post a message to the Wisconsin Volunteer Stream Monitoring list:

1.Once you are a member, create a new e-mail message that is addressed to WIStreamMonitoringATlistsDOTcesDOTuwexDOTedu (Note: replace AT with @ and DOT with .)

2. Compose and send your message as you would normally do when sending an e-mail.
