Riveredge Ephemeral Pond Monitoring Volunteer Duties
Volunteer Monitor Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions to become familiar with the equipment and monitoring forms and procedures
- Collect data prescribed on data form on a monthly basis during spring & summer until the ephemeral pond dries up (equipment will be provided)
- Adhere to the monitoring schedule
- Report results to Riveredge
- Attend debriefing meeting at the end of the year
- Complete an evaluation at the end of the season
- Take care of the equipment & return it in good condition
Qualifications
- No science background is needed (although it’s helpful)
- Ability to walk on uneven ground & enter water to access a monitoring site
- Enjoyment of the outdoors
