Level 1 & 2
Citizen Lakes Monitoring Network
The Citizen Lakes Monitoring Network provides citizens an opportunity to monitor lakes of the state to contribute to a well-established database of information used for making management decisions about these water resources. During citizens’ first year of participation (Level 1), they measure water clarity, using the Secchi Disk method, as an indicator of water quality. This information is then used to determine the lake's trophic state.
